PERAN MEDIA KARTU BERGAMBAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MUFRODAT SISWA KELAS VII DI MTS AL HAFIZH SURABAYA TAHUN AJARAN 2024-2025

The researcher selected this research topic to include seventh-grade students at Al-Hafizh Islamic Junior High School in Surabaya. The study aims to examine the role of flashcard media in improving students’ vocabulary acquisition (Arabic vocabulary), as well as to identify the problems and solutions related to using this medium. The researcher employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method, with data collected through documents, observations, and interviews.
The research findings revealed that flashcards were an effective tool in facilitating students’ understanding of vocabulary, increasing their engagement, and enhancing their active participation and confidence in using the vocabulary, thereby creating an enjoyable learning environment. However, several issues were identified, such as students' excessive reliance on the images, the limited relevance of some images to their surrounding environment, and restricted learning time. The solutions proposed by teachers included contextual exercises, modifying the flashcards to match the students’ environment, and flexible time management. Thus, the use of flashcards has been shown to significantly impact the improvement of students’ vocabulary skills.
