Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effect of using Arabic comic media in improving students’ speaking skills (maharah al-kalam). Comics were chosen as a learning medium because they combine texts and visual illustrations that attract students’ attention, making it easier to understand vocabulary, language structures, and communicative contexts naturally. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, in which students were divided into an experimental group using Arabic comics and a control group applying conventional methods. The research instruments included oral tests and observation sheets on speaking performance. The results revealed that students who learned through Arabic comics showed significant improvement in fluency, vocabulary mastery, pronunciation, and speaking confidence compared to those who did not. Therefore, it can be concluded that Arabic comic media is effective as an innovative alternative for teaching Arabic, particularly in enhancing students’ speaking skills.
